Inspiration comes from many sources

I’m Ishaan. I started Humans of Medicine as a high school student deeply inspired by the people who have made this their life's calling. Medicine is about people, not just science. It’s about the quiet courage of a surgeon standing at an operating table for hours. It’s about the young resident finding her way through sleepless nights. It’s about the physician-researcher chasing breakthroughs not for fame, but because he or she knows that each discovery could mean a better tomorrow for someone’s child, parent, or friend. I wanted to create a space that reflects this truth and share it with others who, like me, are considering medicine as their life’s pursuit.

Each issue is a labor of love - I plan, research, conduct interviews, shadow doctors, and write their stories. Every essay and feature is created to give readers an honest, unfiltered look into the lives of doctors, both at home and around the world. I don’t see this magazine as mine alone. Humans of Medicine is a community effort, shaped by the doctors who open their doors, the readers who engage with the stories, and the contributors who choose to share their perspectives.
